Part of the mission of the Co-op is to serve our community.
We do this through a variety of means, including offering
classes, sponsoring events, and making donations to organizations
that do good in the community. Our classes—open to everyone—include
cooking, health and well-being, and other fun stuff, such
as soap making or bird-watching.
The Co-op sponsors numerous events through the year, including
musicians, art exhibits, and athletic events. And a certain
part of our budget is earmarked for donating to organizations
in the form of something as simple as a donation of juice
and bottled water for your organization's meeting to giving
2% of the day's sales to 12 organizations chosen as Community
Shopping Day recipients.
While the Co-op is sustained by the community, our values
state that we exist to support and build community by cultivating
connections within the Co-op itself and in Whatcom County.
We want to be a part of creating a sustainable world by helping
support one another.
